Speakers in Auckland
May 2000
Our three speakers so far this year 2000 have all been first-class value. Our thanks go to Pam Antill in February who showed a video on Time Management. Later, we had an interactive and enjoyable session learning to be assertive and say ‘No!’ to those many demands on our time and energies.
Some wit queried if it was good timing or good management when Jacqui asked for volunteers to help with committee tasks! Not overawed by Pam’s talk - or perhaps not having learnt the lessons from it! - Jacqui was delighted when new Secretary -Treasurer: Kristin Elliott, Hospitality Co-ordinator: Amber Geen and Newsletter compiler: Janice Roseingrave volunteered their skills. Thank you all for being great time managers!
Psychologist Derryn Cooper
afflicted with Chronic Fatigue herself, was our speaker in March. Derryn spoke on Chronic Fatigue, a subject close to our hearts, in a relaxing interactive manner, which appealed to everyone. Thanks Derryn for a fun timeOur speaker in April, previously afflicted with Lupus, which is now in remission thanks to applying her own skills of Naturopathy, was Helen Hope. Helen, a chartered Natural Therapist, Herbalist and Iridologist was asked to describe the benefits of Naturopathy & specifically to speak on new advances which members have been inquiring about e.g. DHEA, GH4, Guaifenesin and Malic Acid.
Helen was assisted by Suzie who has been using GH4 and by Amber who has been investigating Guaifenesin and will be using it shortly. A write-up of their experiences appear on this website. In the next newsletters we will follow-up the progress of these people and others in managing their FM.
Helen is a speaker who thoroughly knows her subject. Naturopaths try to treat the source of the problem with natural means and when it comes to poor sleep and poor digestion, knowledge of good nutrition and supplements is essential.
Check dietary guidelines for Fibromyalgia from Helen. Thank you for your knowledge Helen and your contribution to us.
We hope to hear more from you and all our speakers in the future.
