This article has been adapted for people in New Zealand from ‘The Arthritis News’ published in England. I was reflecting the other night on the last few years I've spent learning to live with fibromyalgia. Only in the last two years have I learned to cope with the symptoms. Coping, to me, is being able to live a relatively "normal" life. When you're depressed, the last thing you need is for people around you to make comments that minimize your feelings. Remind yourself which comments you should listen to and which you should block out! You may just want to point others to these lists of the worst and best things to say to someone who's miserable and feeling depressed. |

The revolutionary treatment that can reverse the disease – read the book by author, R Paul St Amand MD and Claudia Craig Marek. Click on the book (graphic to the left) to buy. Reader Amber G, of North Shore researched Guaifenesin on the Internet. This was written in 1999 when there were only five people in New Zealand being aided by their doctors to import Guai and help them relieve their Fibromyalgioa symptoms. Now there are over seventy people using Guai in New Zealand. Principal Investigators: Robert M. Bennett, MD, FACP, FRCP, FACR Professor of Medicine and Chairman Division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon, USA; Sharon R. Clark, Ph.D., FNP Assistant Professor of Medicine OHSU and Associate Professor of Nursing OHSU; Co-Investigator: Pat De Garmo MUP, RN, ANP; Study Advisor: Paul St. Amand MD, (UCLA). This is the most extensive research in the world done with fibromyalgia to date. At the time of these studies, the effect of salicylates was unknown rendering the results null and void, as with the following study. Finance is being accumulated for another Guaifenesin study. |
