Some of you wonder why we hurt when we cycle. The fact of the matter, is that we are purging out the phosphates from our body, six times faster than when they went in. This also explains mini-deposits.
Here is an explanation from the book by Dr. St. Amand, on page 52 & 53 for reference, where Dr. St. Amand talks about reversal flood, cycling, how reversal works and mini-deposits. I place words in bold for emphasis.
"You will recall that I postulate the fibromyalgic kidneys cannot move fast enough when it comes to expelling phosphate. Therefore, the reversal flood is more than they can immediately handle.
Since the urine is by far the main route for elimination, the debris pouring out of cells will have to wait its turn to get out of the body. The cell is spring-cleaning and dumps the unwanted phosphate and friends into the blood stream.
This puts an added burden on the blood, which also wants to rid itself of the excess phosphate. It feels for all the world as though the disease is starting all over again, but at its worst level ever, since this purging is moving debris out of cells at least six times faster than the accumulation of the debris.
The blood delivers large batches to the kidneys, but these organs cannot process the phosphates instantly. The blood therefore must allow mini-deposits to occur all over the body, which cause generalised flu-like aching.
The brain scoops up its share, which leads to fatigue, cognitive impairment, irritability, and insomnia. It's deja vu all over again! The difference this time is that the kidneys are now working in the right direction thanks to guaifenesin. They are now in overdrive eliminating the excess phosphate and calcium to the best of their capacity."
"The symptoms of fibromyalgia appear to worsen until the kidneys catch up. The main method for eliminating exess phosphates is through the urine. Guaifenesin pulls one batch after another out of the tissues now that the urine is able to eliminate them. These batches obviously contain the disease-causing, accumulated energy blockers.
Each cycle ends when that is all that can be done metabolically for the time being. During this leaching out period, patients sometimes notice small amounts of particulate matter in the urine. They also describe unpleasant tastes and odours to their breath, perspiration and urine. They will notice that their eyes sting and their tears burn."
"A rest period then follows, which could last for a few hours, days, or even weeks if large amounts of the offending substances are being purged.
It is likely that the process of reversal is continuing at a subliminal level somewhere, even during the better moments. Patients can feel no change as long as it remains below their particular pain threshold. Suddenly, the crescendo mounts as more cellular debris is stirred up and the next perceptible attack begins.
The patient's individual pain threshold will usually determine the perceived intensity of the reversing attack. Each of these cycles represents a solid step that brings the patient closer to restored health."
This is a great paper to keep for future reference.
