Everyone who wishes to use Guaifenesin must read
"What Your Doctor May Not Tell you about Fibromyalgia" by Dr R. Paul St Amand and Claudia Marek.
"Fibromyalgia - An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed" by Claudia Marek Both available here
Another excellent book to read is "Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain" by Dr Devin Starlanyl
All Authors are fibromyalgics who write from their own experience as well as their medical knowledge.
Following you will find up-to-date information on Guaifenesin dosages and supply in New Zealand.
Do check the accompanying up-dated list of basic sal-free products. This list does not necessarily contain all products available but gives you a tried and true base to begin with.
I trust this is helpful to you.

Dosage and Supply
Guai Order Form for New Zealanders
Guai Order Form for People from Other Contries
- Buy 300 mg or 600mg capsules in New Zealand through "Positive Living" Guai Support
- New Zealand Guaifenesin is in sustained action (S.A.) lactose-free, gelatin capsules - not vege capsules
- The N.Z. capsules have an immediate action followed by a sustained release which lasts approx 12 hours
- Megan consulted with Dr St Amand as to the best formula for the New Zealand chemist compounding our Guai
- We continuously keep up with the latest Guai news
- We collated all up-to-date information from The Fibromyalgia Treatment Centre in Los Angeles, U.S.A. and spoke with experienced users, before deciding on the best format to be produced in this country
A survey of Guai users in New Zealand, provided enough bulk-buying power for us to negotiate top service for all fibromyalgics with low prices and low overheads when buying through "Positive Living"
- The low prices, the N.Z. compounding of Guai and our service from 'Positive Living'
can only be maintained with your buying support
- Take medication 12 hours apart initially and always with food
- Lowest starting dose is 2 x 300 mg per day - take 300 mg morning and evening
- Wait at this dose for 10 days or until exacerbation of symptoms
- If not at your threshold, increase dose by 300 mg to 900 mg daily. Stay at this dose for the next 10 days
- Again, wait at this dose for 10 days or until exacerbation of symptoms
- Always increase dosage in an increment of 300 mg for the next 10 day period
- You must exceed your threshold before you feel pain
- When you reach your dose and your symptoms intensify, you will initiate reverse cycling.
This will be your dose for life.
- Some people on high doses take 3 doses daily
- Dosages do not need to be evenly divided - e.g. for a dosage of 900mg, take 600mg morning and 300mg evening
- Doses up to 1800 mg daily have proved to initiate reversal in 90% of people
- You may be a person who needs a higher dose than 1800mg - we know of one person taking 4800 mg
- Always keep a daily diary of how you are feeling to track yourself for ascertaining your own cycles
If buying internationally, you can buy 300mg and 600mg long acting (L.A.) slow release capsules from N.Z.
Sustained Action SA, Slow Release SR, and Long Action LA terminology all mean the same thing
If nauseous with tablets from overseas, we manufacture our 100% pure guai with no fillers in gelatin capsules
Beware of lactose or other ingredients in tablet formulation, especially if you are lactose-intolerant
When changing from tablet to capsule formulation (or from capsule to tablet),
it may be necessary to remap and re-titrate your dosage.

"Hi Jacqui. Thanks for organising the wonderful night last night.
It was really great to have the earlier function and get-together
as everyone had a lot of questions
& it was great to have everyone together just to discuss things.
I'm sure everyone got a lot out of it. Thanks once again" - B.W.
"Well done for last night, Jacqui. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone
at your lovely place and I gained lots of ideas.

Thank you again. Well done and bless you both" - J.H.
