Sal-free Products In New Zealand

Here is a list of the Salicylate-free (Sal-free) products I use - Megan. The Salon Selective range of Hair products has been discontinued. I will be looking for new shampoo/conditioner when my supply has run out and will update this list with the new products I find.

There are salicylate free lists on 'The Fibromyalgia Treatment Centre' website, but they are American made products and probably not obtainable here in New Zealand. It pays to have your Pharmacist check out individual products for you. If you phone the 0800 number on the back of most products, the companies themselves are usually very obliging. N.B. Ingredients in products can change without warning and notification.

These are the Salicylate-free Products Megan uses.

Personal Hygiene Products

Simple Soap green and white packaging
Toilet paper/tissues no Aloe Vera or Eucalyptus oil
Dental floss no mint
Baking Soda for toothpaste - adults
Soul Pattinson Plain Toothpaste with fluoride protection (no added flavour or colour no sugar or artificial sweeteners). I get from Australia for my girls to use. They are not keen on the Baking Soda
Plain Vaseline for lips
Plain razors with no Aloe Vera strip
Mitchum Roll on Deodorant Unscented green and white (shaped like a torpedo, white cap)
Alpha Keri Lotion as a moisturizer
Alpha Keri Oil for massage

Sunscreen and Hair Products

Sun Sense Low Irritant Sun Screen (purple and White)
Wella Design wet gel "special effects" for hair
Salon Selectives Shampoo Level 2 Extra Moisturizing (pink/purple)
Salon Selectives Conditioner Type P Protective (lighter pink/purple)

Cleaning Products

Drive soap powder for clothes washing
Palmolive Anti bacterial dish wash liquid (Amber in colour) for the dishes
Jiff Power Spray for cleaning (green/yellow and white)
Plain white Jif for cleaning. (white and green)

Makeup for Women

Cover Girl Perfect blend pencil crayon - basic black (eye liner)
Cover Girl pressed powder (green compact)
Max Factor Gold Silks - lipstick
Max Factor Lasting Performance Stay put makeup - true beige

I trust this is helpful to you.

We have requests for information about
Sal--free
insect repellents [e.g. Aerogard, Reckitt & Coleman]
and also Sal-free stuff to put on after bites [e.g. Stingose - Parke Davis]
and has NZ Cancer Society Sunscreen been investigated?

Question:
Would it be useful to try to become salicylate-free
prior to taking Guai or doesn't it make any difference?
Answer: Yes, if you do this, you will have changed to the correct protocol beforehand and be familiar with ensuring proper protection for exposed skin.
It does take some time to change over the products in your home. Allow about three months in general.
It may become an expensive practice to immediately throw out products instead of gradually introducing new ones as you use up products you wish to discontinue.
Do remember to wear gloves when handling fruits and vegetables such as potatoes and onions for example.
Some people are more sensitive and are affected worse than others.

Shortly, we will put out a copy of Dr St Amand's checklist for first mapping

Written comments after meetings held in Auckland on 11th April 200 when
Megan Parker spoke on Guaifenesin.
People came from as far afield as Kaiwaka in Northland;
Port Waikato, Matamata, Tauranga and Whakatane in the South.

"Thank you very much jacqui and Megan for a sharing, enlightening
and empowering meeting last night" - D.L.

"Jacqui, I really enjoyed the support meetings, It was nice to meet so many people
in the same situation as I am who are doing lots of positive things.
It was good to hear so many positive things about the Guai treatment too.
I hope to go on Guai at some stage, when the time is right." - B-M N.

"HI Jacqui. Thanks for organising the wonderful night last night.
It was really great to have the earlier function and get-together
as everyone had a lot of questions
& it was great to have everyone together just to discuss things.
I'm sure everyone got a lot out of it. Thanks once again" - B.W.

"Well done for last night, Jacqui. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone
at your lovely place and I gained lots of ideas.
I think the most encouraging thing was seeing so many people smiling.
I think I have forgotten how - one thing to look forward to again as I recover.
Thank you again. Well done and bless you both" - J.H.

"Thank you for a most interesting and helpful evening, Megan and Jacqui.
Also for all the effort put into spreading helpful information.
It was well worth the effort of coming to Auckland" - K.R. & M.R.

"I had a wonderful time at the Guai evening, thank you for arranging everything!
We arrived home just before midnight. Despite what I said earlier in the night,
I didn't go to sleep on the way home at all! Too much to think about."   :-)   - W.H.
