I am very excited Last December, I spoke to Jacqui about a product that has really altered my health situation and she asked me to write a letter to all of you. I would like to tell you about this too because it has become very important to me and helped my Fibro considerably. And it may help you!

I have fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). Since I was diagnosed in 1998, when I was 18, I have been very pro-active in seeking ways and means to improve my quality of life and reduce my FMS symptoms. Consequently my FMS is now mostly "in remission", only re-emerging when I don’t take care of myself.

What I have tried so far …

A lot!
I started on Amitriptyline before I was diagnosed, which marginally improved the quantity but not the quality of my sleep. It left me feeling drowsy and lethargic. In 1999 I started what was to be 2 years worth of acupuncture treatment that improved my symptoms dramatically. Still not satisfied however, I started chiropractic treatment in June 2001, giving up amitriptyline finally in July last year. I have also radically changed my dietary habits of a lifetime by using my version of the Zone diet. Lastly, I try to practise good self-managemnt, thereby altering my general lifestyle.

What I’ve recently discovered …

In November 2001, I came into contact with a range of products that use magnetic and Far InfraRed (FIR) technologies to enhance a person’s strength, energy, flexibility, circulation and balance. Most importantly for people with Fibromyalgia, are the products that dramatically increase their sleep quality. Initially, I was very sceptical. However, after I tried a few of these products, I was amazed at the results I was experiencing.

How this has helped me…

By using this advanced sleep system, which is a special magnetic mattress and pillow, I have been able to get more quality "delta level" sleep, when your body and muscles can regenerate and recover. Delta level sleep is missing for people with fibro. Therefore, I started waking up feeling refreshed and energetic for the first time in years.

The other products I use daily, are thin and light, magnetic inner soles in my shoes and a range of comfortable, stretchy fibre wraps around some of my body and joints, like my wrists when I am working at the computer or doing things that are hard on my joints.

These have all been marvellous for keeping my energy levels consistent throughout the day, as well as allowing me to treat specific strains in the tender spots of my back and shoulders. I have actually felt "normal" again, and have been living life to the full. There's only a very occasional day where I feel fibro symptoms, and that's usually after a lack of sleep through my own fault!
