Around the corner I have a friend,
in this great city that has no end.
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
and before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
for life is a swift and terrible race.
He knows I like him just as well
as in those days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine cos we were younger then,
and now we are busy, tired old men,
tired of playing a foolish game,
tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow," I say, "I will call on Jim,"
"Just to show I am still thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
and the distance between us grows and grows.
Just around the corner - yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram, Sir!" - "Jim died today!"
And that's what we get and deserve in the end -
for around the corner, is a vanished friend.

for whether good or bad,
they have helped to make you -
the person you are today.
Remember, to always say
what you really mean.
When you have feelings and love someone,
take the time out to tell them so.
Seize the day!
Don't have regrets.
Never be afraid
to gently say those special words!
Reach out!
Express your thoughts.
Tell someone today,
what he or she truly means to you.
Otherwise, when at last you decide -
'Now, is the right time to do!'
Just around the corner …….
it simply might be ………. too late!
